Strange not to be doing 2 Funding Drive shows, last few years the way the schedule has been I’ve done 2 episodes during the 10 day Funding Drive. But got pre-empted last week for sports so I just have the one show this Friday night to do. Here is the info from the CFRC website. Some events in Kingston you can be a part of, you can meet other CFRC hosts at them. I will not be any of them with me working midnights of course.
Funding Drive @ CFRC, Feb 10-19
CFRC’s seventh annual Funding Drive takes place February 10-19, 2012 and kicks off the station’s 90th anniversary celebrations! Please donate now.
Our annual on-air fundraising campaign raises almost 20% of CFRC’s operating revenues. As the station grows and develops to meet the changing needs of our volunteers and listeners, the active support of community members like you becomes ever more important. Last year’s drive was a great success, raising nearly $25,000 in ten days. This year, we hope to meet and surpass our $25,000 goal with your help. As in past years, CFRC will be hosting a series of exciting and engaging events to coincide with the Funding Drive:
Monday, February 13: World Radio Day celebratory launch of audio documentaries by Vee Blackbourn and Usman Mushtaq with Ekta Singh, at the Screening Room, 120 Princess. 6:30pm, free.
Wednesday, February 15: Anne-Marie Woods speaks at Queen’s in Dunning Hall, Room 11. 6pm. Free.
Thursday, February 16: Fundraising concert at the Mansion, 506 Princess, featuring CFRC alumni. Doors open at 9pm, $10-15.
Friday, February 17: CFRC dj night from 8pm-midnight at the Grad Club, 162 Barrie. Free.
Sunday, February 19: Skating at Market Square with CFRC DJs. 12-5pm. Free.
For more information, please check back here for updates, or give us a call at 613-533-2121. You can contribute to this year’s Funding Drive by visiting our Donate page or by calling our Funding Drive pledge line (613-533-CFRC) between 8am and midnight from February 10-19.
Your donation is eligible for a tax receipt or delightful CFRC gifts, and ensures that our campus-community station can continue its important work, providing students and community members with broadcast skills and experience while delivering innovative, local radio programming 24/7 in Kingston and beyond. Thank you for your support of this year’s Funding Drive, and all the best to you and yours in the coming year!
